Vinod Khosla is an Indian-born venture capitalist providing capital and assistance to social entrepreneurs. Khosla is a well-known and highly-respected venture capitalist in the San Francisco Bay area in the United States. Khosla is the founder of Sun Microsystems and later joined Kleiner Perkins, where he was and continues to be a general partner of KPCB Funds. Khosla is a charter member of TiE, a not-for-profit global network of entrepreneurs and professionals founded in 1992 that now has more than forty chapters in nine countries. He is also a founding board member of the Indian School of Business. His current passion is social entrepreneurship with a special emphasis on microfinance as a poverty alleviation tool. He is a supporter of many microfinance organisations in India and Africa. Khosla is also ardent about alternative energy, petroleum independence, and the environment. |

Shaffi Mather is a Social Entrepreneur based in India. He is the Founder of 'Ambulance Access for All / Dial 1298 for Ambulance' Service and co-founder of Education Access for All in India.
Shaffi is educated at the Mahatma Gandhi University (B Com), India, University of Pittsburgh (MBA Marketing), USA, University of Bridgeport (MBA Finance), USA, Cochin University of Science & Technology (LLB), India and the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK where he was a Chevening Senior Gurukul Scholar and currently, a visiting Lecturer. He is currently a Mason Fellow in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University till June, 08.
Post his MBA, Shaffi along with his brothers took his family business in real estate to leadership position in his home state Kerala and then professionally worked with two of India's leading corporate tycoons, Mr. Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries) and Mr. Subash Chandra (Zee TV/Essel Group).
Shaffi's most notable accomplishment has been the successful establishment of an Emergency Medical Service (EMS) "DIAL 1298 FOR AMBULANCE" in Mumbai, the first truly world-class self sustainable and universally accessible Ambulance Service in the world. This project is now under expansion in Mumbai and in his home state, Kerala. The Education Initiative is involved in e-learning and also in setting up Schools across India.
